The Christmas Tag.

Happy Saturday Bookworms!

I am in full Christmas mode. Last night I blasted some holiday hits and wrapped a bunch of presents while smashing on some pizza! I am so ready for all the festive fun to begin, we are supposed to get a huge snow storm in Michigan tonight. I can’t wait! Also my first Christmas party is today :).

What better way to celebrate today than doing The Christmas Tag!?

What’s your favourite Christmas film?

I really love like every Christmas movie, these three I’ve been enjoying the most this holiday season though.

Have you ever had a white Christmas?

Of course! I live in Michigan, cold weather is like our middle name. I couldn’t imagine not having snow in the winter though, I’m defiantly a four seasons type of chick.

Where do you usually spend your holiday?

Christmas Eve we go to my Aunts house on my dads side of the family which is my favorite day ever! On Christmas day my parents and AJ’s parents come over to my house in the morning and I make breakfast and we open up presents. After that we go to AJ’s side of the family and have a Christmas dinner and some drinks :). Oh my gosh, just talking about it has me so excited!

What’s your favourite Christmas song?

I always rock out to some Mariah Carey Christmas! All I Want For Christmas Is You is one of my favorites. I also love The Christmas Song too!

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

I do at family parties but when I was little my parents used to let us open one present on Christmas Eve. I am defiantly keeping the tradition going when I have my own kids.

Can you name all of Santas reindeers?

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen!? And Rudolph of course!

Am I right!?

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

I love so many! Making Christmas Cookies, all the traditional family parties we have. Everything about the holiday season I am so excited for.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

It’s a fake bia! I don’t think I could keep a real tree alive lol. It would be like in Christmas Vacation when the dog keeps drinking the water under the tree. I’m sure it would dry out if I had one.

What is your all time favourite holiday food or sweet treat?

Sugar cookies and CHEESY POTATOES! I could eat a plate of cheesy potatoes by myself. They are my favorite and I can’t wait for Christmas Eve when my mom whips a batch up!

Be honest, do you prefer giving or receiving gifts?

Giving! I get so excited finding presents for everyone. I also LOVE wrapping presents too, I just did it last night. To be honest, I don’t mind opening up some presents though ;).

(This is Izzy’s face after getting scolded for stepping all over my wrapping paper lol.)

Whats the best Christmas present you have received?

Hmm, about three and a half years ago I received an infinity ring from AJ. I wear it every single day and it still shines bright. I love it, I feel so weird when I take it off even for a second. There is defiantly a permanent indent in my finger the ring is on.

What would your dream place be visit during the holiday season?

I think a big city would be beautiful and fun! Like New York City or Chicago. I love the hustle and bustle that you see in all the Christmas movies. I’ve been to New York during the New Year time but it wasn’t the same as it would be during Christmas when everyone is shopping for gifts.

(Picture I took in New York!)

Have a great day loves! I’m currently not reading anything, but I’m looking for a good book to start tomorrow :).

The Autumn Book Tag.

Happy Monday Bookworms!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week! I thought this tag would be perfect for this month. I found this on Poulami’s blog and she was kind enough to tag me in it :). Make sure you check out her blog @ Daydreaming Books, it’s lovely!

What is your favorite thing about autumn?

Can everything be an answer!? Seriously though, Autumn in Michigan for one is absolutely gorgeous and I love taking a drive up north where the real beauty is! My tree’s are already turning colors and I am loving it. I love Football, I love the start of Hockey season, I love chilly bonfire nights, Halloween movies, Apple Orchards, Haunted Houses, stuffing my face with donuts and cider. You name it and there’s a pretty good chance that I love it :).

This weekend with my love :).

What book reminds you of your school days?

Hmmm, that’s a good question. Just for the fact that I read a lot of them when I was in High School I would say any Sarah Dessen book. Like This LullabyThe Truth About Forever, and Lock and Key. I feel like I read every single one of her books when I was younger!

What cover reminds you of autumn?

I used this before but this cover reminds me so much of Fall! This is still on my TBR also and every time I see it, I just want to grab it and read it :).

You do the same thing every day.

You know exactly where you’re going.

You’re not alone.

When Zoe Walker sees her photo in the classifieds section of a London newspaper, she is determined to find out why it’s there. There’s no explanation: just a website, a grainy image and a phone number. She takes it home to her family, who are convinced it’s just someone who looks like Zoe. But the next day the advert shows a photo of a different woman, and another the day after that.

Is it a mistake? A coincidence? Or is someone keeping track of every move they make . . .

What’s your favorite horror or Halloween story?

My favorite stories to read for Halloween are actually the older classics like Frankenstein and Dracula. Oh my gosh remember Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark!? I used to read those all the time during October.

What is your favorite horror or Halloween film?

Probably all the Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger movies, I usually watch them every Halloween. And if we are talking just a fun Halloween movie then Hocus Pocus hands down takes that win! I watch it like every single time its on, I love those old broads :).

What fall book release(s) are you looking forward to?

The Two books I am most excited to release this month are Away From The Dark by Aleatha Romig and Say You Want Me  by Corinne Michaels. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Away From The Dark and I am currently reading it right now and loving it! :).

What autumn movie release are you anticipating?

The only movie I really wanted to see was The Girl On The Train and it came out on Friday so hopefully I can get to the movies soon :). Has anyone seen it!? Did you like it? Let me know!

What are the 3 books you plan to read this autumn?

Three books I haven’t read yet that I plan on reading this month are Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris,  The Taken by Casey Kelleher, and The Silent Waters by Brittainy C. Cherry!

I am tagging:

Anyone and everyone! This tag was fun 🙂

The TBR Book Tag.

Happy Monday!

Hi bookworms! I have been super duper busy with work, which sucks and is so boring because I miss blogging and reading! I’m currently reading The Score by Elle Kennedy, so hopefully there is a review up by the middle of the week 🙂

Today I am going to do a fun book tag though! Thank you so much to the lovely Poulami over @ Daydreaming Books for tagging me! Make sure you check out her awesome blog and show some love!

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

Goodreads makes sure my TBR mountain is well taken care of. I just do the fun part and click on a million different books 🙂

Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?

Right now mostly ebook. I have a lot more ebooks like ARC’s that I need to get through, which gives me a headache just thinking about it.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

I don’t really plan any, I just pick up what book I think I will enjoy the most next. I get in certain moods so that really determines the genre and the book I want to read next.

A book that’s been been on your TBR list the longest?

Grrrr, now I really want to read this! It still sounds so good lol.

A Book you recently added to your TBR?

I just added this to my TBR on Friday. I adore this author and I read the first book in The Element series and no surprise, this one sounds good too!

A book in your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?

This isn’t strictly on my TBR because of the cover, it also sounds great but I just love this cover. It’s so beautiful and bright!

A book on your TBR you never plan on reading?

Even though I love the cover, probably Wasted Words by Staci Hart. It’s so far back there I probably won’t ever get to it.

An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for?

Hands down, Away From The Dark by Aleatha Romig! The second book in The Light series. It releases on October 18th and I can’t wait!

A book on your TBR that basically everyone’s read but you?

Ummm, I’m not sure an exact book. But I’ve never read a Kasie West novel and I’m pretty sure majority of my blog friends have read at least one. Don’t worry though, I plan on reading one soon 🙂

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?

I keep getting recommendations for Rookie Move since I love hockey and sports romance! I plan on reading this in October though since I didn’t get to it this month.

A book on Your TBR that you’re dying to read?

Yes, yes and yes! I am dying to read Retrieval by Aly Martinez! It sounds so good and I’ve heard great things 🙂

How many books are there on your Goodreads TBR shelf?

I cleaned it out the other day so it’s really not that bad! only 172 books on my TBR shelf. Easy peasy right? 😉

It’s tagging time now! I tag-

Everyone!! This was fun, so go ahead and do it if you feel like it 🙂

The Goodreads Book Tag!

Happy Saturday Bookworms!

What is everyone’s plans this weekend? It’s a gloomy day here in Michigan so my lazy ass is just plopped down on my couch until I’m forced to get ready for work and close tonight! But tomorrow it’s finally Football Sunday! That means Chili will be in the crockpot all day, and I will be decorating for fall 🙂

I can’t believe I have not done the Goodreads Book Tag yet! So that’s exactly what I’m doing today!

What was the last book you marked as ‘read’?

Collared! First, I can never get over how beautiful this cover is and second I loved this book! You have to meet Torrin Costigan ladies, he’s perfect 🙂 But the overall plot and story is just great, Nicole Williams nailed it with this book!

My Review!

What are you currently reading?

The Deal!

Woo hoo, I’ve been waiting to read this, I bought the paperback and it’s going to look so nice on my bookshelf along with the other books in this series.

She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy…

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

…and it’s going to be oh so good

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

What was the last book you marked as TBR?

Release Date: September 15th, 2016

Single dad, Beckley Bridges, is sexy as hell.
No, really, he’s the hottest thing since the sun was created.
Honest to God, crack an egg on him and the thing will sizzle.
So what’s the problem?
He’s also a gigantic jerk.
I hate the bastard.
I try to avoid him at all costs.
But for some reason, everywhere I go he seems to show up.

Only the real issue is his daughter, English.
She’s an adorable quirky first-grader who’s the sweetest thing since iced tea.
And she’s one of my students but also the love of his life.
So I have to deal with him on a professional level.
It’s not easy.
On a scale of easy to hard, dealing with Beckley Bridges is like nails screeching across a blackboard.

But when English’s mother tries to gain custody after abandoning her on Beckley’s doorstep as an infant, he’ll do anything possible to keep English under his roof.

That’s how he ends up propositioning me.

And crazy as it sounds?

I find myself considering it.

What book do you plan to read next?

I plan to read Swear On This Life by Renee Carlino 🙂 I love this author! Has anyone read Before We Were Strangers by her? Ugh, one of my all time favorite books! Swear On This Life looks fantastic though.

When a bestselling debut novel from mysterious author J.Colby becomes the literary event of the year, Emiline reads it reluctantly. As an adjunct writing instructor at UC San Diego with her own stalled literary career and a bumpy long-term relationship, Emiline isn’t thrilled to celebrate the accomplishments of a young and gifted writer.

Yet from the very first page, Emiline is entranced by the story of Emerson and Jackson, two childhood best friends who fall in love and dream of a better life beyond the long dirt road that winds through their impoverished town in rural Ohio.

That’s because the novel is patterned on Emiline’s own dark and desperate childhood, which means that “J. Colby” must be Jase: the best friend and first love she hasn’t seen in over a decade. Far from being flattered that he wrote the novel from her perspective, Emiline is furious that he co-opted her painful past and took some dramatic creative liberties with the ending.

The only way she can put her mind at ease is to find and confront “J. Colby,” but is she prepared to learn the truth behind the fiction?

Do you use the star rating system?

I sure do! I love it because sometimes I just don’t feel like doing a full review on there, so I just give a book the star rating so it’s a really easy way to review a book 🙂

Are you doing a 2016 reading challenge?

No, actually I didn’t end up doing a reading challenge. I feel like it’s too much pressure to try to finish all of them.

Do you have a wish list?

Not through Goodreads, but you should see my Amazon wish list, holy smokes!

What book do you plan to buy next?

I can’t wait to finish the Lightning Strikes Series with the final book Summer Rain! It’s a great series, a good one for fall too!

Danielle Monroe is determined to use her new job in DC as a stepping-stone to a high-powered political career. But the secrets surrounding her father’s death continue to overshadow her goals. Her family thinks she holds the final piece of the puzzle, but she doesn’t even know what the puzzle is until an attractive and possibly dangerous stranger shows up in her life.

Patrick Kane is searching for answers about his own dark tragedy, not realizing that the beautiful Danielle may not just hold the key to his mystery but also his heart. They have to stay alive long enough to find out.

Do you have any favorite quotes? Share a few.

“I love you more than you could possibly imagine.”

“My imagination is endless,”

“Good. So is my love.”

-Bright Side, Kim Holden

“Does he treat you with respect at all times? That’s the first question. The second question is, if he is the exact same person twenty years from now that he is today, would you still want to marry him? And finally, does he inspire you to be a better person? You find someone you can answer yes to all three, then you’ve found a good man.”

-Colleen Hoover, Slammed

Who are your favorite authors?

I just gave you their quotes I love! My top auto buy authors that I also adore on a personal level are Colleen Hoover and Kim Holden! But I love a lot of other authors too, so it’s hard to choose a bunch.

Have you joined any groups?

No, I haven’t but feel free to recommened any because I would love to join some!

Who do you tag?

Anyone and everyone who wants to do it! 🙂

The Wine Book Tag

Happy Monday Bookworms!

How was everyones weekend? Do anything exciting? I worked all weekend but I did get my baking on! I made chocolate chip cookies and zucchini bread, yum! Oh and I drank wine which is why I thought this tag would be perfect to start off the week with 😉

I saw this tag on Calliope’s blog Calliope the book goddess! It looks so fun so make sure you check out her answers as well 🙂

Box Wine – a book people will judge you for liking but you like it anyway!

Maybe that I love the Crossfire series. They might judge because it seems similar to Fifty Shades but it’s really not and it’s one of my favorite series out there. I adore Gideon and Eva 🙂

Organic Wine – a book that doesn’t have any added crap in it and is just written perfectly.

I would say November 9! Everything is just put together so well and things aren’t dragged on, they happen but it doesn’t take long to fix them in this book and I love that.

My Review

Gluehwein – a really spicy, Wintry read.

Into The Light would be a great winter read! The second book to this duo series is due to be out in October and I can’t wait to read it 🙂

My Review

Sauvignon Blanc – a really sharp and aggressive read that you couldn’t put down.

I would say You by Caroline Kepnes was a pretty sharp and aggressive book and holy cow I couldn’t flip through the pages fast enough! If you haven’t read this, then you really need to meet Joe Goldberg!

My Review

Pinot Noir – a book you didn’t expect much from but ended up getting blown away.

Okay so I picked Bossman not because I didn’t expect much from it, but because I expected it to be another cute, funny, sexy, alpha male type of novel but it was all of that and so much more! It completely blew me away and I loved it.

My Review

Chardonnay – a good summer read that was super zesty.

This was the perfect book to read this summer and one of my favorite books! Smut is funny, cute, sexy, romantic. It’s everything zesty and great for summer 🙂

My Review

Rose – a book that has a little bit of everything in it.

I’m going to go with All The Missing Girls. It has mystery, romance, suspense. It’s such a good book and it is so well written, I loved it.

My Review

Shiraz – a full-bodied book that is dark and juicy.

When I think of dark, My Girl comes to mind. It has the craziest plot twist ever, it’s nuts!

My Review

Merlot – a smooth, easy read with a soft finish.

I read this so long ago but it was the first book to pop up in my head. It’s such a sweet story and everyone knows how much I adore animals and romance, Shelter Me is adorable!

Champagne – your favorite book.

Ugh, how can I choose that!? Well, I am going to pick Bright Side because I have never ugly cried more in my life than when I was reading this book! It’s everything.

My Review

I tag everyone!

Stay tuned this week for my August Wrap Up, my September TBR which should be good 🙂 and hopefully I’ll have a review up for the ARC novel I am going to start reading today to end the month with!
Have a great day!

Anonymous Bookaholics Tag

I was tagged to do this super fun bookaholics anonymous meeting by one of my favorite bloggers, the lovely Jill @ Rant and Rave About Books ;). You really should check out her blog if you haven’t by now! It’s awesome 🙂

What do you like about buying new books?

Can everything be an answer? My book addiction is bad but does it count if I get super good deals!? I am giddy with excitement because my birthday is Tuesday and it’s almost a given that I will get at least one gift card for books and I’m just plotting my next books to buy in paperback (woo hoo!). 😉

How often do you buy new books?

I don’t know really, I’m more of an impulse buyer. If I’m browsing Amazon or decide to take a trip to Barnes and Nobles that’s really when I buy my books sight on scene I guess.

Bookstore or online book shopping – Which do you prefer?

As much as I love walking around Bookstores, I actually prefer to buy online. They always have better deals, even Barnes and Nobles online site is much better than actually shopping in store. I have a big Amazon addiction though and I’m all about that Amazon Prime baby!

Do you have a favorite bookshop?

The only bookshop I could say is B&N, I have absolutely no cute mom and pop bookshop around me and it makes me so sad! My town does not share my same addiction and is totally boring.

Do you pre-order books?

Uhhh, YEAH! I love to pre-order. It’s like a little rush of happiness you get knowing you have something to look forward too! I always pre-order my favorite Authors new books they have coming out on instinct!

Do you have a monthly book buying limit?

No, I don’t go that crazy. I’ve actually been pretty good lately. I have a ton of ARC’s I have to get through and I really need to read the books I impulsively bought on my kindle, so I’ve been a good girl and haven’t bought much this month 🙂

Book buying bans – Are they something for you?

No, because even if I did I would break it so what’s the point lol.

How big is your wishlist?

“Look at him … staring at me the way every person wants to be looked at by another person at least once in their lifetime.”

Umm it’s not that big. I really need to get my hands on Collared by Nicole Williams though, it’s been on this months TBR and it’s been on my wish list for a while! It’s cover is beautiful and it sounds like it’s right up my alley!

Which three books from your wishlist do you wish to own NOW?

Well Collared like above of course! I also can’t wait for The Debt by Karina Halle to come out August 29th. Oh and Swear On This Life by Renee Carlino is a must read for me too!! Good thing my birthday is Tuesday, I’ll hopefully have some of them in my hands 🙂

I tag anyone and everyone who wants to do this! It’s a fun tag 🙂

Have a great day!

The Bookfests Award

So I’ve had about two cups of tea, and I am giddy as all get out today! Which is horrible because I really need to finish up a book I am reading and get some reviews going since it’s my day off!

Well of course I am totally doing the opposite of anything I need to do like always and I am going to post an award tag! 😉

Thank you so much to the wonderful Amy @ novelgossip for nominating me for The Bookfests Awards! Amy and I have so many books in common that we love and she has an amazing blog! So go check it out please 🙂

The Questions:

A book you started but never finished…but want to finish. What stopped you from continuing to read it?

That is a good question! I started glancing through the first few chapters of The Sister by Louise Jensen but it kind of started out slow so I put it down. BUT thanks to Jill’s review today @ Rant and Rave About Books I have learned that it gets really good at about halfway through so I will have to pick it back up ASAP 🙂

What elements attract you to a book, which makes you need to read it?

hmmm, well besides if you have heard something about the book I would say the one thing that catches our eye first is the Cover. To me though, that’s just a plus if it comes with a pretty cover. I would say the blurb to me, if I’m not familiar with a book and it even has a hint of what I’m interested in reading then I will usually pick it up.

Which books do you prefer, e-copy or hard copy?

A physical copy will always take the win for me even though I do enjoy my Kindle.

What book are you currently reading or going to read next?

I am currently finishing up an ARC for an author called All Of These Things but what I’m going to read next is an obvious answer. It Ends With Us by my girl CoHo! I know it’s weird that I haven’t read it yet but I want it to have all of my attention so I can soak it all up.

Is it fair to judge a book by its film?

Heck no. The book is usually better, I even have a shirt that says so 😉

What book did you badly judge by its cover and ended up loving?

I really can’t even think of one off the top of my head. Or maybe I just haven’t bought a book with a really ugly cover lol, I’m not sure either way.

Which book character have you felt the most kin with and able to relate with?

Ugh, like a bajillion! I connect with so many characters it’s unreal. One book and character that always comes to my mind though is Kate Sedgwick in Bright Side. I feel like I connected a lot with her, mostly for her personality but also with her college experience. I also once got stuck with a roommate just like she had and would find myself bunking with my other friends a lot but at the end we ended up being ok. Just her overall personality and the way she treated people had a big connection to me.

I am going to nominate EVERYONE!
Thanks for reading, maybe now I can finish the book I’m reading and get some reviews going……
then again, maybe not 😉
