“Hello, Madison. You may not know us, but we know you. We want to play a game. Here’s what happens if you lose…”
Madison Montgomery comes from money and power, but when someone close to her commits the ultimate crime, Madison must live with her tainted name for the rest of her life. When she begins Riverside Preparatory Academy, the private school her father has swept her into in The Hamptons, she hopes for a fresh start. What she wasn’t hoping for was the pack of bad boys who run the school; ten, to be exact. When Madison gains the attention of their leader, Bishop Vincent Hayes, a whole new world that she didn’t think existed is exposed to her. A whole world that starts and ends with The Elite Kings Club and these boys, are about to flip her world upside down. Secrets are overflowing and family lies are about to be exposed. Is there more to Madison Montgomery than even she knows?
Holy shit. First of all, thank you so much to Jill @ Rant and Rave About Books for suggesting we read this book because I am now addicted and I need more!
Could you imagine your mother finding out your father is cheating on her and then murdering the other woman with your gun and also killing herself? No, I didn’t think so because neither could I, but that is always in the back of Madison Montgomery’s mind whenever her father moves her to a new place. This time it is The Hamptons, and Madi hopes that maybe she can finally make a fresh start for herself without the whispers and the rumors.
On the first day of school Madi finds herself a fast friend with the adorable Tatum, and she thinks that maybe things will be different in The Hamptons. That is until she catches the eyes of the Elite Kings Club, and then everything Madi thought she knew completely flips upside down.
“I’ve come to realize there are secrets upon secrets and no one is telling me anything.”
I don’t even know how to explain my feelings for this book, I feel like I’m still asking myself “WHAT DID I JUST READ!?”The suspense, the secrets, the questions, the freaking ANGST! I wasn’t expecting any of it, but I wouldn’t have changed it one bit.
The Silver Swan is a hard book to review without giving anything away, because in my opinion it’s a book you just need to open up and figure out for yourself. As soon as you read the first chapter, I guarantee you will be hooked. I got addicted, there are so many things going on in this book that have your mind racing. After every chapter I was like ok, shits about to go down but then nothing would happen and I would have to keep reading just to get some answers for all the questions that were swimming around in my head.
“This is all a game, kitty. Bishop, me, the Kings – it’s a game, but it’s a death match.”
The characters are off the charts, I couldn’t believe that they were only high schoolers! But the fact that they were so young made it so much more interesting. Madison, the main character is so sassy and fun! She is tough and sticks up for herself which I really like. I also loved her friend Tatum, she was like the queen of gossiping and way more outgoing but they fit well together as friends.
Nate and Bishop though… YUM! The guys in this book are so dangerous and mysterious. You can’t help but love them, it’s like their bad boy ways just draw you to them even if you don’t think you should like them. You know me though, I love my bad boys so it’s no surprise that I loved the male characters in this book.
“Bishop is intense and drop-dead gorgeous, sure, but he also has an air of danger that hovers over him – and his lame Maserati. Everyone answers to him. If that isn’t enough to fuck with your morals, the fact that he’s an unattainable asshole would.”
The Silver Swan is super dark, edgy and eerie. It’s completely different than anything I have read before but a lot of people say it reminds them of The Royals Series. If you like dark books of any kind then I think you will love it. I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait for the second book to come out. The ending is a total cliff hanger but it goes so well with everything because the author keeps you guessing during the whole story!
