Happy Saturday Bookworms!
What is everyone’s plans this weekend? It’s a gloomy day here in Michigan so my lazy ass is just plopped down on my couch until I’m forced to get ready for work and close tonight! But tomorrow it’s finally Football Sunday! That means Chili will be in the crockpot all day, and I will be decorating for fall 🙂
I can’t believe I have not done the Goodreads Book Tag yet! So that’s exactly what I’m doing today!
What was the last book you marked as ‘read’?
Collared! First, I can never get over how beautiful this cover is and second I loved this book! You have to meet Torrin Costigan ladies, he’s perfect 🙂 But the overall plot and story is just great, Nicole Williams nailed it with this book!
What are you currently reading?
Woo hoo, I’ve been waiting to read this, I bought the paperback and it’s going to look so nice on my bookshelf along with the other books in this series.
She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy…
Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.
…and it’s going to be oh so good
All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

Single dad, Beckley Bridges, is sexy as hell.
No, really, he’s the hottest thing since the sun was created.
Honest to God, crack an egg on him and the thing will sizzle.
So what’s the problem?
He’s also a gigantic jerk.
I hate the bastard.
I try to avoid him at all costs.
But for some reason, everywhere I go he seems to show up.
Only the real issue is his daughter, English.
She’s an adorable quirky first-grader who’s the sweetest thing since iced tea.
And she’s one of my students but also the love of his life.
So I have to deal with him on a professional level.
It’s not easy.
On a scale of easy to hard, dealing with Beckley Bridges is like nails screeching across a blackboard.
But when English’s mother tries to gain custody after abandoning her on Beckley’s doorstep as an infant, he’ll do anything possible to keep English under his roof.
That’s how he ends up propositioning me.
And crazy as it sounds?
I find myself considering it.
What book do you plan to read next?
I plan to read Swear On This Life by Renee Carlino 🙂 I love this author! Has anyone read Before We Were Strangers by her? Ugh, one of my all time favorite books! Swear On This Life looks fantastic though.
When a bestselling debut novel from mysterious author J.Colby becomes the literary event of the year, Emiline reads it reluctantly. As an adjunct writing instructor at UC San Diego with her own stalled literary career and a bumpy long-term relationship, Emiline isn’t thrilled to celebrate the accomplishments of a young and gifted writer.
Yet from the very first page, Emiline is entranced by the story of Emerson and Jackson, two childhood best friends who fall in love and dream of a better life beyond the long dirt road that winds through their impoverished town in rural Ohio.
That’s because the novel is patterned on Emiline’s own dark and desperate childhood, which means that “J. Colby” must be Jase: the best friend and first love she hasn’t seen in over a decade. Far from being flattered that he wrote the novel from her perspective, Emiline is furious that he co-opted her painful past and took some dramatic creative liberties with the ending.
The only way she can put her mind at ease is to find and confront “J. Colby,” but is she prepared to learn the truth behind the fiction?
Do you use the star rating system?
I sure do! I love it because sometimes I just don’t feel like doing a full review on there, so I just give a book the star rating so it’s a really easy way to review a book 🙂
Are you doing a 2016 reading challenge?
No, actually I didn’t end up doing a reading challenge. I feel like it’s too much pressure to try to finish all of them.
Do you have a wish list?
Not through Goodreads, but you should see my Amazon wish list, holy smokes!
What book do you plan to buy next?
I can’t wait to finish the Lightning Strikes Series with the final book Summer Rain! It’s a great series, a good one for fall too!
Danielle Monroe is determined to use her new job in DC as a stepping-stone to a high-powered political career. But the secrets surrounding her father’s death continue to overshadow her goals. Her family thinks she holds the final piece of the puzzle, but she doesn’t even know what the puzzle is until an attractive and possibly dangerous stranger shows up in her life.
Patrick Kane is searching for answers about his own dark tragedy, not realizing that the beautiful Danielle may not just hold the key to his mystery but also his heart. They have to stay alive long enough to find out.

“Does he treat you with respect at all times? That’s the first question. The second question is, if he is the exact same person twenty years from now that he is today, would you still want to marry him? And finally, does he inspire you to be a better person? You find someone you can answer yes to all three, then you’ve found a good man.”
-Colleen Hoover, Slammed
