Tag: The Secret Life Of A Book Blogger

Happy Sunday!

I saw this tag on Chocolatenwaffles’s Blog and I loved it!

How long have you been a blogger?

I’ve been blogging about a year now. Although, when I first started my blog I didn’t really post a lot because I was unsure of what I really wanted to blog about. Then I realized to have a great blog, you need to write about your passion. So reading, books and writing were what I set out to blog about! 🙂

At what point do you think you will stop?

Ummm, hopefully never!

I only want to grow it, maybe make another one in addition to this one. I love writing so much, I think I will always have a blog. It’s comforting and enjoyable.

What is the best part?

Interacting and communicating with you all! It’s so refreshing getting to know so many different people, and the fact that we all have the love for books and reading in common is amazing. I also love the joy of writing and getting to talk about books that I have read, and loved and sharing it all with you!

What is the worst part?

The worst part would have to be timing. There is so much that goes into keeping up a blog, sometimes life gets a little overwhelming and the last thing you have time for is to read a book or make a new post. The only thing that is frustrating to me is that there just aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything you would love to do on here.

How long does it take you to find/create pictures to use?

Not long at all, I usually use the same ones or just quickly find one or create one. I use Pinterest or my Instagram pictures for backgrounds and then just edit them for color and wording.

Who’s your book crush?

Geeze, I’m like a book slut. I have a lot of book crushes! I fall for guys in my books so easily, it’s bad. Whenever they are saying sweet things or doing things I love, it’s like word porn I swear lol.

What author would you like to have on your blog?

Colleen Hoover would be so fun to interview since she is super funny and adorable and my fav. Honestly though, I would be ecstatic with any author I read to be a guest on my blog! That would be amazing.

What do you wear when you write your blog?

I’m usually relaxing when I’m blogging so either yoga pants, workout shorts, and loose t shirts or tank tops are my go to clothes when I’m at home.

How long does it take you to prepare a post?

It depends on what post I’m writing. memes & tags like this don’t take long at all. Reviews, and my own writing take a little longer because I am putting all my notes together and reviewing and editing the post constantly if I think I forgot something, so those could take up to a couple hours or maybe even a day if I stop and get back to it.

How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?

Supportive, passionate, friendly, sweet, you guys are amazing! I never feel uncomfortable reaching out to any of you or giving you my opinions or giving you praise. This community knows how to accept others and give them comfort and praise and keep us all going. Thank you all for being the best! 🙂

What do you think one should do to have a successful blog?

Be yourself, do whatever the heck you want to do, write about what you want, make it your own, just do what makes YOU happy.

Don’t worry about anyone else’s blog or anything like that. It’s your blog, it’s already successful because you are writing about your passions, and giving it all you’ve got so keep it up!

Who do I want to know more?

Jill @ Rant and Rave About Books Because I love your writing and you are always making me laugh!

Inge @ The Belgian Reviewer Because every review you post just makes me want to read that book!

Amy @ novel gossip Because we have so many books in common that we read!

Gretchen @ chicnerdreads Because you are so sweet and always seem to be giving everyone praise all the time!

Feel free to do this tag if you want! 🙂 & I’m nominating everyone else too because I would love to get to know all of you better!

Have a great day!

  1. Aww, thank you so much for saying that and thanks for the tag. ❤️ I’m planning to post it this week. Book slut and word porn. Haha! I love that! I knew there’s a reason we get along so well. 🤗 CoHo would be an awesome author to interview, especially since she started out as a self-pub author. Her story is pretty cool. Great advice! I’m always myself. That was important to me from the beginning. I never hold back on my blog. I want the people I interact with to get to know me and not some fake version of me. The blogging community is my favorite part, too. Everyone is so awesome and supportive. And I agree with you on Inge. I’m sold every time I read a review. Between the two of you I’ll never stop adding to my TBR. 😉

    1. You’re so welcome!! I can’t wait to read your answers ☺️

I knew we would have a ton in common!! & it’s more like between Inge & you, my TBR has became a huge mountain that I can’t cross over! lol

  2. Word porn 😂. That is definitely a thing!! I’m always glad to see others taking their sweet time as well when it comes to writing a post. Sometimes, I feel like everyone just poops them out while I’m spending hours on blocking out everything else around me (including my husband). Great advice there in the end, and thank baby Jesus that you’re also keeping your panties on while blogging 😁

    1. Yes we all know about word porn in our books! lol. I defiantly take my time when writing my posts, like today I have a review to write and I feel like it’s going to take me forever!

      Thanks so much 🙂

  3. Please check out Binibining E of my site. She’d be all giddy to see you check out her book blog. Like you, she’s new on book blogging. I had to insist she write it on my site. Haha. Nice to see you!
